On a scale from 1-10… How driven are you?

What is your spirit animal and why?

I took a test and it said my spirit animal is a butterfly Haha, I would have to agree with this, ever since I did my Yoga teacher training the word FREEDOM has always been a word I choose to embrace in my day. A butterfly spends its early time in a cocoon and then grows wings and sets itself free into the world. I have spent a lot of my years in a cocoon of not feeling enough and in hiding, which is ironic that I have been in the music industry for the majority of my life! I have put in a ton of personal development to shed the layers of my cocoon and have given myself permission to fly with freedom and the courage to be vulnerable as my authentic self!!!

What was the first experience in your life, when you knew you were destined for this career path?

There are a few of those moments, but one that really stands out to me, as I had moved to Vancouver to be in a city with a thriving music community and to attend school for marketing. One day I was sitting in class writing lyrics instead of taking notes, when I realized what I was doing, I left class and picked up the Georgia Straight from the lobby, went to the classified section, and circled the ad from a music producer promoting a demo special. I called him up and that was the start of making my first official 10 song album, I have never looked back!

How important is “luck” in your career?

I believe success is based on persistence, hard work, and continuously developing a skill set. I believe if you keep putting yourself out into the world in creative ways connecting with as many people all over the world with the tools available to you, then you can create whatever you desire!

What have you found to be 100% true about success?

If you continue to show up as the best version of yourself, whatever that looks like on each given day you're successful. The moment you start to doubt yourself and get distracted by what other people are doing you lose sight of your version of success. To me success is being able to do what I love every single day and as I continue to grow in my career on a daily basis!

If you could meet any successful person in your career who would it be and why?

Dolly Parton, aside from her being an amazing songwriter and performer, I would like to know how it feels to have a theme park made after you!!!
