JULIE ELODY SAYS, "MUSIC HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE TO PICK HER UP"!!!
We don't know how you do it, Julie, but you're doing it!!!
Hi Julie! Great to have you here!
When did you become a music lover and what does it bring to your life?
I have loved music since I was a little kid. My dad was always jamming to Queen, Billie Joel, Jackson Browne, etc and I fell in love with music too. It has always brought peace into my life especially going through some bullying in middle & high school. Music was always there to pick me up after an especially rough day.
When did you know that you wanted to make music your career?
I was in a band in college, The Fake Carls, and we had just recorded our first single. It got a little popular in the college scene around the city and I was walking to class when I heard the song blasting out the windows of a stranger’s white pickup truck. Hearing my voice, my words, like that being played by someone I didn't know.. that was it. I think I literally said “crap,” because I knew it wouldn’t be easy.
How do you balance artist life and normal life?
I don’t really. I live on 20 hours of sleep a week and 10 cups of coffee a day.
If you had to sum up music in three words which would you choose?
Vibrations. Passion. Healing.
Do you have any superstitions?
I’m not really superstitious but I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch. And saying things like “what else could go wrong” or “hey today was not so bad” is a sure-fire way that something else will go wrong.
What is your biggest passion?
I think writing lyrics. That’s definitely my favorite part of music.
Please tell our readers where they can follow you!
Thanks for your time!
