Laura Cheadle on Music and Inspiration!

Hey Laura! It is great to speak with you today! Same here! Tell us about your latest project! I have released a sultry R&B single, ‘Reverberate’ with So Bold Ent/Sony Orchard. This self titled EP will be out in early 2022! In addition to that, I am releasing a full Christmas album filled with soulful originals and covers out December 1st! Who are some of your biggest musical influences? My musician father definitely taught me well. I grew up listening to Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin! The older music just possesses that genuine and funky feel! Do you remember the first time you realized you wanted to pursue music as a career? Absolutely. I went on tour at the young age of four! My dad is a professional musician and Philadelphia legend so I grew up with music all around me. When I was a teenager, I had a broken heart and picked up the guitar. It was from there that I started writing music. I was a drummer first so a lot of my guitar playing is played uniquely like a rhythm instrument. I’ve done a variety of music but it always has a soulful undertone. I’m so excited about my new music! What has been one of your favorite or most surreal moments of your career so far? I have had the pleasure of opening for some amazing artists including Jonas Brother, Marc Broussard, Robert Randolph, John Oate/Hall and Oates and many more. It’s always a surreal music singing to a sea of people! Who are some of the artists currently inspiring you?

I LOVE everything that Bruno Mars is putting out there! He takes old school /new school to a new level! What do you do when you have writer's block or a creative block? Any go-to ways to shake yourself out of it? It’s crazy because sometimes it’ll be years until I can write. During covid , I started writing and writing and haven’t been able to stop since! The best cure to writers block is to travel to new places. New experiences always bring creative success for me. Do you have a piece of advice that you would give someone just starting out in the music world? Stick to YOUR music and your soul. Do the hard work but only make music that is true to you and that you are proud of. At the beginning of my career, I used to ‘take every gig’. It’s so important to get from behind that screen and meet people in person! I make so many lasting connections that way. What's been a lesson you've had to learn since beginning your music career? That being yourself and trusting your gut is the only way for genuine success. There will be a lot of people in your ear. I’ve always maintained a positive attitude and I think that has helped me in that crazy biz! What do you hope to see in the music world as the industry continues to evolve? I hope to see more organic instruments being front and center. The reason that I LOVE older music is that you can hear every instrument and the heart and soul that went into it. Any upcoming projects you want us to know about?

My new music video for my new single ‘Reverberate’ is now out! Go check it out! It features me with all animated dancers. Also, please go stream ‘Reverberate’ now on all streaming platforms! Get in the holiday spirit and download ‘Let’s Get Together For Christmas’ out December 1st with So Bold Ent/Sony Orchard! Please tell everyone where they can keep up with you and your music! is my fave place! I do a lot of hippie thoughts :) Thank you for your time! Peace and love!
